Going Green

This past Tuesday CKMB had a Happy Hour with the theme of going green. (That is with you scrapbooking) All of the ladies had such great ideas and I thought I would share these great ideas with you. (But remember a lot of the ideas came from the ladies on CKMB. So they deserve most of the credit.)

Here are a few ideas:
  • Save all of you scraps (You can use them to make cards and die cuts with punches and die cut machines)
  • Use Clothing tags
  • Save plastic from packages to make ghost letters and shapes
  • Save ribbon from packages
  • Buy paper from recycled materials (K&Co has a new line at Wal-Mart of stuff made from things that are recycled)
  • Wrap small gifts with paper that you know you won't use.
  • Use plastic packaging for paint trays
  • When making mats for photos cut out the middle
  • Use buttons from old clothing
  • Use soap and water to clean stamps instead of baby wipes

Here are some links to the Happy Hour posts so you can get some more ideas:

A Few More Cards

Hi,

I have some new cards to share with you today. The first one was made using the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge Sketch. It gave me a chance to try out a few new things, like my skittles, new stamps, and I also painted some moe chipboard.

I used a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers to make the second card. It is called a Joy Fold Card. I really like the design of it, but I don't like the way mine turned out. I plan on making another one using some different stuff.

Here is the link to the tutorial:

This is another picture of the Joy Fold Card when it is opened.

Thinking of You Card

I have another card to share today. When working on this card I tried something new. Instead of covering the chipboard flower with pattern paper I used acrylic paint. It was so easy. I think I will be using my acrylic paint more often.

I wanted to post the card sooner today, but it came a really bad storm and I was unable to post it. We recieved 2.5 inches of rain within 2 hours. I could not believe how hard it rained. I hope everyone is haveing a great day.

Friends

Today I finished a new card. This card was made using the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 25 sketch. I bought some new stamps at JoAnn's on Thursday and I used them to make the little cars. The set of stamps also came with the sayings. I added diamond stickles to the headlights to make the shine.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I'm Back

Hi Everyone,

I am finally posting on my blog again. It has been so long since the last time I posted, but I have created many things since you last saw my ATC holder. I have also been on vacation since the last time I posted. I actually went to Virginia Beach on vacation. It was so wonderful there. I got to go on the beach and shop. These are two of my favorite things.:) As you can see to the right I have started making Christmas cards. This is the first one I have made so far. It was made for one of the challenges at the AMR crop on Saturday night. Sadley this was the only challenge that I completed because I was working on some inchies. I will post pictures of them later on. I also made this 40th flower pot for one of my friends who was truning 40.

This flower pot was made usig one of the $2.00 flower pots from the dollar store, ribbon, my Cricut, and some floral foam. I got the idea from one of the ladies on AMR. For now that is the only stuff that I have pictures of but, I have also been making some cards and other stuff.

P.S.- I hope everyone had a great July 4th.
